Welcome to Manchester Postcards. I have been collecting old postcards of Manchester and it’s suburbs since 1981. I was born and raised in Eccles and remember buying my first postcard of Barton Swing Bridge from a stall on the old Eccles market.

Many of us enjoy looking back in time seeing how our local community has changed over the years. It can rekindle fond childhood memories or just reminds us of a period in our lives spent in an area of Manchester. Time never stands still and it’s not until we take time to look at old photographic images do we realise how things have changed.

Everyone likes to reminisce and talk about the ‘Good Old Days’. Hopefully the images you will view on this website will do just that.
